Bereavement Ministry Group

Today I am grateful for all those things that are missing in my life because their absence reminds me of how blessed I am to have had them all.

St. Lawrence Bereavement Ministry provides:
~ support to the bereaved family members of St. Lawrence Parish who have lost loved ones.  This will be accomplished in a caring, compassionate environment.
~ assistance upon request with daily activities
The vision of the Bereavement Ministry is to continue expanding the services as our ministry grows in a spiritual, caring and social atmosphere.
The group meets on the 2nd Sunday of the month at 11:00 am in the Religious Education office.  In addition to the Support Group meetings and additional one-on-one assistance, special events are held with a speaker.
~Letters of condolence, along with a packet of helpful bereavement material, are sent out to each family that has lost a loved one.
~In between meetings, families may call for help.
~A full library of bereavement books is available.

Please contact Mickie Hope at 203-929-8499 or by email at gemihope@hotmail.com for further information on how we may help you. As part of our Bereavement Ministry, we offer “Transitions”: a support group for those who are grieving the loss of a loved one. For further information on this group, please contact Jim Linden at 203-929-7656 or Mickie Hope.

St. Lawrence Gardening Angels have helped design and build gardens throughout Shelton.  Our 2012 project was to design and build Shelton’s first annual cutting garden, a 100 x 30 plot located on open space at the dog park.
Youth/Adult community service hours are available.  Everyone is welcome to join us and learn about gardening and horticulture with our team.
